Elizabeth was my night nurse and her smile and competent attitude are enough for her to get this award. She was my nurse during an emotional crisis fueled by steroids and yet another hospital admission. My regular docs do not have privileges here. I am 64 and she is in her 20's, but she held me like I was a weeping child trying to calm me down. Then she had a prayer with me, a lovely simple prayer asking God to take charge of my care and concerns. She held me until I could catch my breath and speak semi-rationally. She called the doc and got a stat order for anxiety meds, at 1:30 am, or so. I had not slept in 2 nights. She kept peeping in to see if I was resting.
She left the next morning before I got to thank her, but she left me a note with Isaiah 41:10...Do not fear. For I am with you. Do not anxiously look about you for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Surely, I will help you. Surely, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
If I could, I'd recommend a whole bouquet of daisies for Elizabeth!
