I know her job is not easy, clean, or always well rewarded, but Liz is always there to answer my questions.
Liz was the first person I met when I was transferred from acute care to rehab. She took her time to make sure that I was comfortable. Every shift she works, Liz shows up genuinely ready to help. She keeps this attitude all while balancing being a mother, student, and employee at another healthcare facility. For the past three weeks, she has been nothing but encouraging. Not only that, Liz listens without judgment. In these times with so much isolation, finding that quality in a nurse is so important to everyone's well-being. Besides the constant caregiving involving pain management, transfers, and even toileting, Liz has also done an excellent job at helping to relay other resources available that can help me. I know her job is not easy, clean, or always well rewarded, but Liz is always there to answer my questions. There has never been a time where I've felt like less than a human just because of the current ailments I'm going through. This is directly related to the authenticity, physical mobility help, and emotional support provided by my nurse Elizabeth. In my opinion, she has gone above and beyond as a nurse while always keeping the common touch with her patients. Liz even helped me learn more Spanish by speaking to me solely in Spanish! This was so much fun for me and helped to keep my mind off the physical pain.
