Elizabeth was nominated by the Cardiovascular and Monitored Surgery unit at GMH - one of several units that she supports. The team commended her for her dedication to supporting the 4D team, her clinical expertise and her communication with team members, patients, and families. She is knowledgeable, resourceful and a mentor for other educators. She remains calm despite the large scope of her work.
Recently, a family member felt that the team wasn't providing adequate treatment for the patient's blood sugar. Elizabeth met with the family and explained the policies and resources available to them and she found information for them to review. She was confident in her explanation and the family appreciated her clear communication and compassionate manner.
