From the time Elizabeth was a student nurse I knew she would make an amazing "real" nurse. Elizabeth always sees the best in people and does not judge based on circumstances or what she is told by others. She always puts her patients and families first and is an extraordinary example of ETCH Core Values. She is respectful to everyone, patients, families, peers, and physicians, all she encounters, even if she doesn't identify with their reasoning.
Elizabeth provides patient/family centered care by valuing the family's input and involving them in their care. Excellence is shown by providing safe and excellent care while setting the highest standards for her patients and the care she provides. She is always determined to have the best outcomes you could wish for with her patients while greeting them with a smile and enthusiastic personality. No matter what kind of day the unit or Elizabeth herself is having she remains optimistic and encourages those around her to do the same.
There is a fun side to Elizabeth that she allows to sneak out when least expected. It is always good to see this because she can be too hard on herself at times and needs that reassurance that she is doing an amazing job! I believe that Elizabeth's parents have ingrained in her all these wonderful traits and she has molded them into who she is.
Finally, she exudes integrity and teamwork. She is honest and trustworthy and is always willing to help her team whenever she can with whatever she can. Even though Elizabeth graduated within the last year from nursing school, she is wise beyond her years. I have always said she has an old soul. I hope that Elizabeth continues to make an impact on every life she touches and that other nurses can learn the compassion and empathy that she has in life.
