Liz is an inspiration. Working alongside Liz has been so wonderful because she makes me remember what I love about nursing. Liz is always ready to go out of her way to make her patients comfortable. She never forgets her professionalism even with the most challenging patients. Liz treats all of her patients like welcome guests in her home. In particular recently when working with Liz, she had a patient who was a little lonely. Whenever Liz left her room to see to another patient's needs the patient would become frightened. Even though Liz was very busy she made time to do all of her charting in the patient's room and engaged her in conversation all night so she would not be afraid. She even went through the patient's entire menu choices for the whole next day to keep her focused on what she could control. It was one of the most generous acts of kindness that I have seen in my career. In addition, Liz is enormously kind and caring to her colleges. What an asset to our profession!
