Elizabeth Honsberger goes above and beyond all expectations by providing "Spa Days" for some of her patients in the SICU. Elizabeth is a licensed cosmetologist and provides special attention to the little details of personal/physical grooming. One day I entered her patient's room to find her patient reclining in bed with his hands soaking in buckets of warm soapy water, his feet wrapped in warm soapy towels, along with warm moist packs applied to his knees. Elizabeth was focusing on softening callouses in these areas. The patient was freshly shaven and his hair had just been washed and combed.

Elizabeth's actions exemplify going above and beyond to provide comfort for patients. The time she spends providing the "Spa Day" further develops her nurse/patient/family relationship and enhances the overall patient experience.
