Liz was asked by the couple to attend a memorial service that was being held for their son because, in the patient’s words, they “needed her there because of what she did for us.”
Liz Horby demonstrates the ability to provide quality, compassionate care to our patients and families. Liz practices patient/family-centered care to the highest degree and conferences with other disciplines in order to provide the best possible patient care. One example of this is a husband and wife that Liz cared for. The couple went through terrible loss and suffering and Liz, along with addressing their medical needs, provided them with her expertise in behavioral health and formed a close professional bond with the family. Liz needed to work with outside agencies while caring for this couple and did so with ease and great respect for their privacy.
