Elizabeth is the type of nurse and advocate that you would want to fight for your mom or dad if they were hospitalized. Elizabeth works on a unit specifically dedicated to older adults and is a fierce advocate and friend to all her patients. Before being a nurse, Elizabeth was an investigator, and she consistently does an incredible job finding out the details from patients that are crucially important and often hidden.
Recently, Elizabeth spent a long time conversing with a patient on the ACE Unit and discovered that his disease was likely impacting his ability to learn new health information. His illness made it extremely difficult to process new information. This piece of information did not seem to be anywhere in the patient's medical record but upon further investigation, it was confirmed and the medical team worked to approach the patient in a different way to help him care for himself and his illnesses.
