May 2024 Honoree
Elizabeth Johnson 2024, BSN, RN, OCN
Elizabeth has been a nurse in our Myeloma area for several years. She is always working hard to ensure our patients are taken care of, even if they're not her provider. Elizabeth came to me with a dilemma. She had a patient who was seen in an outlying LCI that needed IVIG, and his medication was now 'white-bag', so we had to go through those steps. She worked hard and advocated for the patient to receive his IVIG close to his home versus driving to our Morehead location. It was a true struggle to get this patient scheduled, as many of our outlying facilities were full and did not have availability. Elizabeth worked tirelessly until she got him scheduled at a location closer to his home. I know she had to go back and forth between several different locations until she found one that was available. It may seem like such a small thing--to receive infusion closer to home--but I know that to the patient, it meant a great deal. That is only one example of the dedication, compassion, and care that she gives to our patients every day.
Thank you, Elizabeth, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
