Nurse Liz became our friend in the nearly two weeks that my boyfriend K was in the ICU. She provided excellent care not only to K but also to the rest of us who were visiting him. After his time in the ICU, K was moved to another unit. Liz visited us there whenever she could. She checked in with K, then made sure the rest of us were taking care of ourselves too. K has made incredible progress in his brain injury recovery, and Liz was there along the way, not only doing her job as a nurse but also providing comfort and encouragement, which I believe has helped K tremendously. Liz, you truly are the best nurse.
