She is really able to connect with her patients in such a refreshing way. Liz cared for the whole patient and always went out of her way to do anything needed.
Liz was our day nurse on the weekend when my daughter was there for a several day stay. Liz was professional, caring, and compassionate, but also able to really connect with my daughter on a personal level. We enjoyed getting to know Liz over the 2 days we had her. She is really able to connect with her patients in such a refreshing way. Liz cared for the whole patient and always went out of her way to do anything needed. With her medical condition, my daughter often feels like a patient but Liz was able to make her feel like a human, and that distinction in healthcare means the world to patients and their families not all nurses and healthcare professionals are able to do that- for Liz, it was natural.

What makes Liz hold such a special place in our hearts is that Liz was our nurse when my daughter experienced a major medical situation. Liz was one of the first to rush into the room, and she went right into action. This was my first time experiencing this situation like this in person, which is hard to watch and especially emotional when you are a parent watching your child go through it. Liz's calm demeanor, yet while handling the situation with the urgency that it needed, really helped to ease my nerves as I sat by and watched it unfold. What a pro she was! Liz's shift was ending right when the situation started, but she remained on the scene and with us until things were calm and my daughter was resting. Even when it was past shift, and she was left cleaning up after the situation, she was there. I know she could have left, and maybe even should have left, but the fact she stayed meant the world to me. I am so glad the situation decided to take place while Liz was still there, or else our care and experience may have been different. Because she had already established a connection with my daughter, I believe it made it easier for my daughter to wake up to have Liz there as the one going through the situation. Liz also went out of her way to be a support to me, as the mother and caretaker. She understood how hard that was to watch and was able to provide me with support, reassurance, and a clear, calm voice when my emotions were all over. I just give Liz so much credit and can't even put into words how special of a nurse she is.
