Liz left the room made a phone call to her husband Scott, and arranged to use their truck to get the patient moved tonight with the help of their son and a friend as well.
Liz is not only a wonderful amazing RN, coworker, and friend but her heart is much bigger than she realizes. I had the pleasure today of watching Liz sacrifice her own personal time outside of work without a second thought to letting one of our patients know that she would help them move today. This patient is currently battling a serious wound and is supposed to stay off his foot as much as possible to get the wound healed but because he needed to be out of his apartment tonight to move into another he had no choice but to do all the work on his own. Without hesitation, Liz left the room made a phone call to her husband Scott, and arranged to use their truck to get the patient moved tonight with the help of their son and a friend as well. She came back into the room and told the patient and I was overwhelmed as well as the patient for her heartfelt compassion and sacrifice. Despite the hardship and overwhelming circumstances that Liz and her husband have been facing this week with the sudden and tragic loss of her sister-in-law, it did not stop her. Liz has gone above and beyond to help a fellow patient. She is a true example of whom we should all strive to be in this world. Her heart and dedication to her job and patients are extraordinary. I also know Liz helps weekly cook meals for our local homeless shelter as well. Liz is truly an extraordinary nurse and she is a true inspiration to me and those around her. I pray that God will shower her with many blessings and that those around her will show appreciation by passing forward the same love and sacrifice to others that she has shown. Thank you, Liz!!
