Elizabeth is our Rural Mobile Health nurse working in the infusion clinic due to COVID while providing RMU collateral duties. One day, she went above and beyond to care for a Veteran with an unknown abnormal condition that was identified while receiving antibody therapy for COVID. The Veteran received extraordinary care for the discovered issue. She collaborated with the Veteran’s primary care provider during his infusion to modify medications; she also contacted the pharmacy to deliver medications to the infusion clinic. The Veteran was educated on the new medication and changes and was provided logs for use in follow-up care. Elizabeth coordinated care for the Veteran that was not scheduled and was able to get everything taken care of before he left the facility. Moments like this highlight what an extraordinary nurse Elizabeth is.
