Elizabeth is the sweetest, empathetic and most compassionate person I know. One night, one of the patients, who was a DNR, was going downhill really fast. We knew it wasn't going to be long before she passed. Before her family came back to the hospital, Elizabeth stayed at this woman's bedside holding her hand, soothing her until the family came to say goodbye. Mind you, this is not Elizabeth's patient. She stayed with me at the bedside holding the patient's hand, consoling her and saying, "It's okay. You can go now; your family will be fine. They're okay." She was even there with me to help console the family after the patient passed away. Elizabeth is always willing to help her fellow co-worker no matter how busy she is. She is the epitome of what a great nurse should be.
