My family member was admitted in very critical condition from a massive heart attack. It was a sudden incident that rocked my family to the core. This family member meant the world to so many. For us to make the final decision to withdraw care and extubate was devastating. Through our storm, we could not help but notice that Elizabeth, our nurse, she was peaceful, pleasant, and simply amazing! She checked on my family member and our family and treated him with so much dignity. Her demeanor throughout his dying progression was so nice, even with tears in our eyes, each time she checked on us we could not help but smile with each greeting. She focused on comfort care to ease the pain which also eased our pain. From the bottom of our hearts, we wanted to say thank you by nominating her for this prestigious award.
