There's just something so special about Lizzie that, in an instant, makes me feel a whole lot better, even by just seeing her for a short moment.
Hilarious, kind, passionate, extremely caring, trustworthy, empathetic, compassionate, knowledgeable, and an all-around brilliant nurse are just a few ways in which I can describe Lizzie. She is the epitome of what an outstanding nurse is, and every patient and family needs a nurse like Lizzie to help them through the painful experience of their child's complex medical journey.

Having experienced what I can only describe as the most agonising and traumatic time of our lives, with diagnosis upon diagnosis for our most beautiful princess, hospital visits have become more and more frequent. Each time we are admitted, I always hope we will have the privilege of Lizzie taking care of our little girl.

Whether she was taking care of her or not that day or night, she never fails to pop in to say hello when she can and see how we are doing. Not only does she excel at taking care of my daughter's complex medical needs, but she also was and still is a huge source of strength for me and is always there to reassure me, support us through traumatic times, and answer and explain all my concerns in a way in which I can understand. I'm not quite sure how she does it, but she never fails to make me laugh out loud and smile even when going through the most horrifying time, such as when we were told our daughter might not make it out to the other end when she was poorly just a few months ago. I was absolutely devastated when we learned our daughter's 2nd birthday would be spent at the hospital, but I was so lucky she had the best nurse to welcome her into her 2nd year of life. I'll never forget Lizzie coming in at exactly midnight with a whole team of nurses to sing Happy Birthday to my princess. It literally made me cry. There's just something so special about Lizzie that, in an instant, makes me feel a whole lot better, even by just seeing her for a short moment.

I always feel so much lighter, like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders when we chat, and I can honestly talk to her for hours on end because she's so sympathetic and understanding and offers the best advice. As a parent of a terminally ill child with a very poor prognosis, having a nurse who genuinely cares, knows exactly what they are doing, and is there for both child and parents is so, so important. I cannot thank Lizzie enough. I will forever be grateful and appreciate you more than you will ever know! We don't know what the future holds for our beautiful girl, but whatever happens, you will never be forgotten for the role you have played in her life. Thank you so much for your outstanding care!
