Liz came to provide dialysis for a patient on the floor. All 4 hours of the run, she sat in the room with him and chatted away, as she does with every patient. After the run, the patient shared with me how grateful he was for the time he got to visit with her. As a floor nurse, spending time with patients can be difficult due to time restraints. When Liz cares for my patient she is able to provide the attention each patient needs. Every patient should have dialysis just so Liz can be their buddy! The Essentia Health quality that most describes Liz is JOY. Liz shared with me that this was one of the busiest weeks they have ever had as a dialysis team, yet she showed up for 2 of my patients with a big smile on her face, ready to provide a quality dialysis run for each of them. I cannot express how appreciative I am to have such a kind face sharing care for some of my patients. Lis is organized and efficient, completing each dialysis run in a timely fashion while spending quality time with the patient.
