I had colon surgery that required rerouting and removal of internal organs. I would have called my recovery "grueling", but for the excellent care I received, especially by RN Elizabeth Quesada. She served my family with a level of professionalism I have rarely seen. In those long nights, opiated, in and out of sleep, dazed, confused, she engaged me with trust and confidence. I felt her caring respect under my shrouds of sleep. When awake, the often-used question: "what can I do?". Elizabeth treated my wife with the utmost respect and courtesy. She conveyed to both of us my need to walk, culminating in doing laps three times daily. Her relentless pursuit of my welfare was both endearing and galling, her only intent to serve my best needs.
