Elizabeth was continuously going out of her way to check on my husband. In particular, she made it possible for us to have extra blankets as the heat was not working in his room. She made sure I had a pillow and would check on not only my husband, the patient, but also myself. As far as her nursing skills, she exhibited professionalism, knowledge, and a special gentleness like no other. That gentleness, to us, came from true caring, compassion, and spirit. Clearly, she loves her profession! We really felt the care and in my husband’s situation, as he goes through his stage 4 cancer journey, compassion and taking extra time for him is for which we are truly grateful. The whole unit was supportive, but Elizabeth stood out.
