June 2013 Honoree
elizabeth rodriguez, RN
Liz was honored with the DAISY Award with 3 nominations in one month alone!
The story that touched The DAISY Committee the most was written by a patient and is described, in short, below. I apologize-the nomination was in Spanish and was translated by a fellow DAISY Committee member.
This patient was a cancer patient for over 9 years receiving many painful treatments throughout the course of her recovery. Liz's smile and personality, simply put, made the many years of painful treatments seem to disappear as soon as Liz walked into her room. The way she simply listened and helped with the seemingly "little things" made all the difference in the world to her. Her smile lit up the room and made her pain bearable. Thank you, Liz for simply being you!
