Libby treated my mother so well. When we realized palliative care was the best option for her, Libby’s calming nature made that difficult decision so much easier.
My mother suffered a very serious injury from an unattended fall in a memory care unit. She came in with a series of fractures that pretty much destroyed her whole face. Couple that with dementia, and my mom was very lost and confused, as well as in serious pain.
Elizabeth Schneider was our nurse for the first two day shifts that my mother spent in the ICU. The care and dignity that Libby gave my mother truly need to be recognized. Libby, I am so grateful for the love that you showed our family.
The first day, when I was overwhelmed with all the facts that we were facing, she held my hand and calmly listened to my grief and concerns and gave bits of insight from the wealth of experience that made me feel like we were doing all the right things for my mom. Later, when my sister arrived, she gave her a huge hug and let her sob on her shoulder.

I could go on and on about the little things Libby did that were negligible in themselves but added up to such an incredible level of care.
My mother passed away, and I’m now just looking back and realizing that Mercy was the absolute best option we could ever have had and that God assigned an angel to my mother’s care in the shape and name of Libby Schneider.
Thank you, Libby.
