When our son was rushed into the ER last year, this nurse was my wife’s rock. I wasn’t there when he initially came in, so this nurse took on the role of her supporter. She talked her through what was happening with professionalism and compassion. She went above and beyond to do all she could to prepare us for the days ahead. She was put on this Earth to do what she does, and she deserves the recognition for that. If it weren’t for this nurse, I’m not sure if my wife could have kept it together until I got there. When I got to the ER, she filled me in and answered every question I had regarding him potentially being placed on a ventilator. This Nurse’s actions that day are the single reason why we have chosen to drive 2 hours EVERY SINGLE TIME our son is sick in order to come to this hospital for treatment. As a nurse myself, I can say that she is one of the best of us. It took us so long to nominate her simply because we didn’t catch her name, and upon visiting the ER today, we spoke with her and let her know how instrumental she was that day to us AND my son. My son is now a healthy 2-year-old who loves monster trucks and Spiderman, all because Beth is an amazing nurse.
