It is not unusual for our nurses to go above and beyond in delivering exceptional care to our patient population, and often, their efforts go unrecognized. Elizabeth always commits 110% to delivering the best of care, but on this particular occasion, she did something I've never seen done by any Emergency Department nurse in my 20 years as a physician. A recently discharged ED patient's vehicle would not start because of a dead battery. After discharging the patient, Elizabeth ran out to her car and gave the patient a boost to get him home! I'm still "shocked"; she delivered world-class care and even resuscitated his vehicle.
