July 2019 Honoree
Elizabeth Szabo, RN
Mrs. Szabo was my first nurse after my DNC. She introduced herself in the most professional, compassionate, and caring way possible. I had been having a lot of anxiety, a lot of pain, and a little bit of worry. Ms. Liz listened to me as I talked about what I was thinking and feeling. I know her title says nurse but "Angel" should be placed in front of it. She checked on me every 30-40 minutes, I never had to remind her to do anything she was supposed to. She took care of me as if I was her daughter. I had to catch myself from getting emotional as I talked about her to my friend and family.
Ms. Liz went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure I was (1) comfortable (2) worry free (3) emotionally and physically well (4) mentally Ok after my sister came and upset me so badly, she came in and asked if was I ok after removing the very person/thing that was inflicting emotional pain and hurt. Then she came and hugged me, telling me to calm down and letting me know I was better than the anger that was in me. Before she left to go home, she came back to my room to tell me to take care, I hope you feel better, I will be praying for you. That's when it was confirmed she is Angel Nurse Szabo.
