I just wanted to take a minute and acknowledge the nurse who was taking care of my patient whom I got called in to do a GI bleed study on. I don't know anything about her other than her name is Elizabeth.
When I went to draw blood from the patient - the IV was not working - usually, in this situation the nurse will call the IV team or I am left waiting on a nurse to get the IV started, which a lot of time takes quite a while. Elizabeth was very sweet and accommodating from the time I entered the room. She introduced herself, asked my name, inquired about the study. She was very personable.
Once I found that the IV was not working, I went and let her know. Although she was noticeably busy, she immediately called in someone to help her. Elizabeth was calm, collected, sweet, and professional with me, the patient, and the other nurse. In a time when I could see she had a lot on her plate.
Her main concern was the patient, getting the patient's IV started, and ensuring that his testing was done in a timely manner.
She was amazing. I have been with Advent since November and have never had a nurse be so kind, helpful, accommodating, and team-work oriented.
She's a Rockstar and needs to be acknowledged and thanked for her part in carrying out Advent Health's mission!
