Over the past couple of months of working with Liz, I have seen how she connects and truly cares for her patients. Though I have always known that Liz goes above and beyond to connect with her patients and gets to know them, there have been two particular instances recently that have stood out to me and show me that Renown is lucky to have a nurse like Liz. When Liz was caring for a patient who was going to transition to comfort care, she took the time on her day off to come in and bring this patient his favorite dish, lasagna. She sat and ate with him as he didn't have family to visit him during his final days. This level of caring truly touched me and I could see the joy that it brought this patient. Similarly, Liz was helping another nurse care for a patient who had dementia and was having a rough night. She took the initiative to take the patient on a walk in a wheelchair and try and calm her down. I am so happy to know Liz and see the example she sets for caring for her patients
