Ella (Cerasela) Polotanu, RNC, BSN
Ella the Great, RN on Silver West 8th floor showed my husband and myself extraordinary compassion and care during his stay 5 day stay in March. She exemplifies nursing professionalism and expertise.
I first met Ella over the phone when she communicated updates and treatment plans. This was much appreciated during the Covid no visitor time. She also facilitated communication with other team members.
I know of 2 days that she took care of my husband. She listens to her patients and acts on what she learns. One day her assessment, collaboration skills, and overall thoroughness led to the scheduling of a diagnostic test and 2 referrals which facilitated his healing.
The second day was his discharge day when we met in person. She facilitated the wound care RN’s (Etsuko, also excellent) visit so I could learn a complex dressing change. She facilitated follow up with infectious disease clinic in a timely manner. She reviewed his care thoroughly with me prior to discharge. She collaborated with social work regarding home health care.
She did all the above efficiently and thoroughly with compassion, common sense, and a sense of humor. And that is why she’s Ella the Great to us. She is a wonderful nurse who made all the difference during a challenging time.
