Ella has gone above and beyond to make my precious baby comfortable and feel loved. She always has an upbeat personality and a great attitude. Some of the things she has done include giving Lil R joint compressions and massages and making memory posters with Lil R's pictures of first-time outfits, weight gains, and little achievements. My baby has had such a rough time at the NICU, which has made me have a hard time and start wanting things done in certain ways to prevent infection or worsening of health. Ella has never given me a problem with the requests that I’ve made, and when Ella is working, she always has her eyes on him and notices changes in skin or character that I don’t notice. I am always ecstatic when I know she will be working with my baby, and I trust her 100%. Besides taking care of my baby so well, Ella has gone out of her way to make reactive notes, so I was aware of some of the things that Lil R could go through during his steroid course. She always checks in to see how I am doing, and she listens to me if I am having a hard day. I am not an artistic person, so I am so grateful that she has taken pictures of special moments for me so I will have them for life. Every shift she has had, she does something extra for my baby. I love that she gets so excited about Lil R's achievements, and if she isn’t working with Lil R that night, she still comes over to check on him.

Many nurses are amazing at the NICU, but Ella is our DAISY Nurse because she goes past her job title. She has made this NICU journey a lot easier for my family, and I’ll never forget her compassion and love for my baby.
