Ellen Duerr, RN, BSN was nominated for the DAISY Award by three separate families.
Family 1: We were waiting for the doctor to come and talk with us for the 2nd phase of the surgery on my family member. When the doctor did not come, Ellen was relentless in finding out the situation. She was very caring and compassionate.
Family 2: My mom was out of surgery for two hours and we hadn’t talked to the surgeon. She went out of her way to reassure us, she went to find out that mom was awake and ok and kept us calm in a very stressful and concerning situation.
Family 3: We were here for a family member’s surgery. We could not understand the surgeon on the phone. Ellen at the front desk was extremely helpful and called back and helped relay the information in a way we could understand. This made us feel better.
