One of our patients had unexpected surgery. The patient was here a few days and the goal was for her to get out in time for her daughter's wedding. After surgery, her mother-of-the-bride dress just didn't fit right. So, the daughter of the patient said, "Mom, I don't care what you wear. Wear a sweat suit. I just want you there". Ellen, being the kind person that she is, said she could wear and keep the outfit she wore to her daughter's wedding. After working a 12-hour shift, Ellen brought the outfit to my house at 8 o'clock at night because she didn't work the next day and I did. She wanted to be sure the patient received the outfit before she was discharged the next day. This is one of the many reasons why Ellen is a DAISY Nurse. Ellen, thanks for everything you do!
