My husband, D, was admitted to 5-North just at shift change. While it was busy (we were finally getting a room after 13 hours in a hectic ED), Ellery remained at work until close to 9:00 p.m. to ensure that D was settled in with all his needs met. This “extra mile” let us receive the attention that D might not otherwise have had coming in at shift change on a very full floor. Ellery did this all with a happy and cheerful attitude, making us laugh as well.
