Ellexandria Tate, BSN, RN

The role Ellexandria Tate had during the passing of a recent patient in our department was profoundly significant. Not only did she provide essential medical care, but she also extended emotional and spiritual support to the patient and her colleagues during what was an incredibly challenging time. I have never met someone like Ellex who has such deep compassion for every human being! Beyond her clinical duties and her knowledgeable nursing skills that were evident on this day, it was Ellex’s ability to help our team navigate the intense feelings that accompany the end of life that was nothing short of miraculous. It was Ellex’s empathic presence that provided the patient dignity even beyond the veil of death, praying for the patient and their family when they needed it the most. Ellex demonstrated the utmost respect for the patient by helping provide a sense of solace after this traumatic and difficult event occurred. While Ellex would never see how impactful her actions are, the gentle and kind care she provided on this very difficult day is worthy of a DAISY Award.
