I really thought I was going to die, but this nurse, Elliani, is professional, confident, and compassionate. I have a long list of health issues. She was attentive to all my needs. She embodies what NYU Langone is about. Serve, Teach, and discover. I really wanted to end my life, but through the meaning of those three words in NYU's mission statement, she showed me endless possibilities and that my existence matters to myself and the people I come in contact with. She's a force to be reckoned with. Her caring attitude is a heart full of pure love and passion for mankind. It makes her special to receive an esteemed award such as the DAISY Award. Without her presence during my healing, I highly doubt I would have such high value in my life as I do today. Because of her, I live to help others the way she helped me.
