Ellie Davis made L's stay in the Heart and Vascular PCCU as comfortable as possible. She welcomed him to the unit and explained everything that was going to happen with the new medication he would be taking. Then when he was told by the doctor they would need to shock his heart back into rhythm, Ellie again explained what would happen. But when his heart went back into rhythm with just the medication, both Ellie and his 2nd nurse, noticed the change and contacted his doctor so the procedure could be canceled. On Friday when L was to be discharged, Ellie went out of her way to contact our local pharmacy to ensure they would have the medications needed. Unfortunately, they did not have the Tikosyn needed to continue to control his heartbeat, so Ellie arranged to have the prescription transferred from our local pharmacy to Inova's pharmacy so L could go home and continue taking this new heart medication.
