I met my granddaughter at Children’s Hospital. She already had a rough time (born a preemie and readmitted with sepsis) – Ellie was her nurse that day. My granddaughter was getting even sicker that day, though, to my untrained eyes, she seemed okay. Throughout the day the nurse, Ellie, was observing changes and reporting to the medical team. She kept me calm as she escalated the alarm and emergent needs of the baby. Ellie made sure that the baby received the urgent care she needed that day to save her life! After days in the Intensive Care Unit, Ellie was again the nurse who kept a vigilant eye on my granddaughter and kept me calm through the next steps in my granddaughter’s care. She taught me how to give her medicine and gave me confidence. I know that Ellie is an amazing nurse to all her patients, but to me, she seemed like the angel we needed, every day we needed one. To me, she is the representative of excellent care at Children’s Hospital! We will forever be grateful!
