Ellie Senecal, RN, BSN, CNRN

The situation is that my dear and longtime friend is dying in the CVICU under Nurse Senecal's care. F had a distinguished career as an attorney and activist in the labor movement and civil justice. Nurse Ellie struck me with her concern and deep compassion for F and his partner M, who was with him continually. Our nurse went out of her way to ensure M had what she needed and to communicate what was going on and what would take place later on. She was equally kind to F. Ellie's palliative care was very comforting. And her attention to safety for us was a great example of how to practice during an epidemic. Thank you, Ellie and the other staff, on the 2nd floor!
