Ellis Rosa, BSN, CCRN

My mother was a patient in the ICU for a week during Christmas. Ellis took great care of my mom several times throughout the week. He even helped the other nurses with my mom when he wasn’t assigned to her. When she was on a ventilator, her numbers were not doing well. Ellis suggested to the doctors turning my mom to the prone position to see if her numbers would improve. The doctors agreed, but with caution, because my mom was very underweight and fragile. Ellis then had a doctor with Palliative care speak to us regarding the complications that could arise when turning her to the prone position. Ellis suggested that our family leave the unit for a little while in order to give him plenty of time and space to turn her to a prone position with his team. He then called us back once his team had turned her. Ellis went above and beyond to communicate with us on everything that was going on with my mom. I am extremely grateful for all that Ellis did for my mom and our family. Unfortunately, my mom passed away due to RSV.
