The compassion that I was blessed to witness this morning had me almost too choked up to finish what I needed to do. Our patient was at the end of her life. Ellissa came in and sat with our patient, comforting her, holding her hand. They talked about going "home" and how beautiful it will be. Ellissa, through her genuine compassion, explained to the patient what was going on and asked if there was anything she could help with. All the while sitting and holding her hand as though she were her own loved one. Thank you Ellissa, for showing this patient and me that compassion is a priority in your care.
