I would like to nominate this nurse for the Daisy Award because of how she used her translating skills to assist me with discharging a patient. On August 9, 2010 a patient was supposed to be discharged to Mexico the next day at 4 a.m. However, the translator was unable to translate the discharge orders in spanish because she did not have time and the doctor had not written the orders. This nurse had already clocked out and was getting ready to go home. She waited until the doctor wrote the orders and translated everything. She also printed extra paper work.
