One morning Ms. Nangle responded to an elopement notification of a disoriented, agitated, and aggressive patient who jumped out of bed and ran off the unit. Ms. Nangle ran after the patient along with the medical doctors and hospital police. They ran onto the roof through the snow to prevent the patient from self-harm. Ms. Nangle assisted in de-escalating the situation and ran back to the unit to obtain medication needed to calm the patient. Working along with the hospital police and medical team, they were able to successfully return the patient back to the unit unharmed. This level of interdisciplinary interaction is commonly displayed by Ms. Nangle on the unit. Her quick thinking, caring, commitment and compassion make her a true DAISY Nurse.
