one of her CICU peers
for stepping up in a
critical patient care situation.
In the early stages
of CICU implementing a
new life-saving treatment
protocol, Elvie selflessly offered her
expertise and time to help a fellow nurse
carry out this new care plan. “She offered
her support without being asked,” her
nominator said, “allowing me to focus
entirely on being at the bedside during
the most critical phase of the protocol.”
Elvie’s assistance in this life-or-death
situation had a direct impact on this
patient’s optimal outcome. “We could all
learn from such an outstanding example,”
her nominator says.
