Elvira consistently goes above and beyond not only for her patients but also their families. She is the prime example of our mission and provides care with compassion and empathy. Just one of the examples of Elvira's dedication to her patients is she went to visit a patient on LTACH prior to her shift. This particular patient had been in the ICU for quite some time and Elvira had cared for this patient and family quite frequently and bonded with not only the patient but her family. The patient had told Elvira that she hadn't felt clean since her admission to LTACH. This sat heavy with Elvira as she went on to work her shift. Elvira when went back to LTACH at the end of her shift. She then washed the patient's hair with shampoo and water instead of a shampoo hat. She then spent time washing and put lotion on the patient. Elvira completely went above and beyond to provide dignity for this patient.
