Elyse has been my nurse for about two years now. I have had many nurses in my lifetime but I have never met a nurse as sweet, caring, and compassionate as Elyse. She's become an expert in accessing my incredibly difficult port. She always remembers to bring me warm blankets. She helped connect me to one of my (now) most important doctors, and throughout my five-hour infusions, she remains highly attentive and timely. Elyse offers up ideas when my parents, my doctors, and I are stuck. She has become a crucial part of my medical team and I tell everyone I know about her. She is smart and knows exactly how to care for her patients. Her bubbly personality brightens my darkest days and I don't know what I'd do without her on my team. Elyse is more than a nurse to her patients. She's a friend as well. This is why I believe she deserves the DAISY Award. You'll never meet a nurse more compassionate and qualified.
