Every nurse in the Mother/Baby unit we've had the privilege of meeting and being in the care of has been wonderful, from the birth of our two daughters to our recent stay for the birth of our first son. There comes a time when someone truly special who really enjoys their career stands out, goes above and beyond for their patients, and expresses that love and passion through their work. My wife and I were blessed to experience this type of care, love, and compassion during her recovery, and for this reason, we would like to give Emelisa Flores RN the flowers she deserves in this DAISY Award; thank you. Although a few complications arose, the feeling of comfort and security from the care we received goes beyond words or examples. Emelisa kept us well informed throughout, giving us one of the biggest relief from worry. Her extensive knowledge gathered throughout her career and willingness to share her past experiences, personal and professional, helped guide us in many difficult situations. For my wife, one of the biggest differences Emelisa made was helping her embrace the joy and bond of breastfeeding all over again while relieving pain on soar spots by explaining techniques that my wife describes as "life-changing advice." We were lucky and blessed to have been in her care, and anyone else she has in her care will be lucky and blessed too.
