They make special connections with the patients and their families above and beyond expectations.
The Emergency room nursing team of NMC Royal Hospital is working very hard to meet the needs of the Patients. They face a lot of challenges, yet they make sure patient care delivery is of utmost importance and priority. They are on their toes taking care of children, elderly, sick, injured, and actively involved in resuscitation services, transfer of patients, taking care of ambulance. They not only take care of emergency patients but also take of inpatients who stay in the ER until bed availability. They are the point of contact for all patients. The team does an incredible job -managing Covid patients, performing PCR screening, managing code blue, taking care of patients under observation, coordinating, and collaborating with all team members with constraints and limitations. The sky is the limit for their patience and tolerance, absorbing patients’ behavior, team members' expectations, and demand. They make special connections with the patients and their families above and beyond expectations. Their contribution has significantly affected the patients' clinical outcomes. Besides the patient and their family's education and discharge preparations they also answer all questions of the patient and bystanders in a way that is easy to understand, assisting the team in resolving issues, escalating ethical dilemmas, and communicating to all concerned is remarkable. You may call it professionalism, diligence, commitment, compassion, resilience, it's a bundle of attributes that the ER nurses possess. They must be angels.
