Nurse Emelia saved my life. To me she is a gift from God - a comforter, a healer, and without her, I am convinced I wouldn't be here to tell my story. In my life, I've always been the one to take care of others. Now I've had to accept care. I was admitted to Seton with pneumonia in all five lobes (as of writing this, I've been here 13 days now). As I lay in bed, I began to cough and could not catch my breath. Panic set in. I couldn't sit up to draw air. I literally thought my life was ending as I struggled, too weak to press the button for help. Nurse Emelia heard me from the hallway and came in. She took me in her arms and began to rub my back. She told me I was safe and that she would not leave me. She comforted, soothed me, and held me until I could draw breath again. Without Emelia, I would have died that night, drowning and alone. She truly was God's ministering angel. I felt God's presence in the room and know that Emelia was there to save me. Words cannot really describe the feelings you have for someone who saved your life - gratitude, humility and more. Nurse Emelia has all these from me and so much more.

Thank you, Emilia, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
