Emilie Lico started this year off as a brand-new manager with 2-3 months of experience. Then bam - I go ahead and inconvenience her by birthing a baby! Instead of cowering away from expansion and growth, Emilie faced it head-on. Emilie grew our nursing intern program into the 100s in her first 6 months as an ANM-BY HERSELF! She maintained the happiness of our employees, built a culture, fought for what is right by her employees, and expanded! She not only managed these employees but also built a culture worth buying into. The nursing interns not only staff our hospital in a PCT capacity but also grow into the most amazing nurses. Emilie fostered their growth into amazing nurses by having conversations, providing guidance, and showing kindness and strength. She ensured our employees felt heard, appreciated, and true members of our team/hospital as a whole. Emilie has grown as a leader in the last year—building relationships, growing our team and ensuring buy in by all of our employees. She is an amazing leader, so worthy of this award!
