It was my second night in the ICU. I woke up in horrible distress. I had a bloated stomach, thinking it was going to explode from the inside. Emilie was calm and reassured me it would be okay. She brought me tea and crackers. She walked with me up and down the hall until the gas in my stomach was relieved. She had me in the chair for additional relief. I was previously distraught, and Emilie went the extra mile to reassure me to help calm me down. Emilie not once dismissed my physical and emotional distress. I feel quite lucky to of had an angel by my side that evening. I could not overstate my gratitude for her!
