Emilio took care of my sister after she had neurosurgery in the ICU. My sister has been waiting for space to open up at Smilow, but it has been a blessing that they didn't have space for her in the Neuro ICU because she would never have met her nurses in the Surgical ICU at Yale New Haven!
I have never met such wonderful nurses. Emilio Reardon has absolutely been so lovely to my sister. He allowed me to stay the night in my sister's room when everyone else had gone home. Emilio allowed my sister dignity in situations that would prove otherwise. He has gone above and beyond in his professionalism, kindness, patience, and skill.
Emilio's legacy of kindness, grace, poise, and love, lives on with every person and every family member of that person he helps.
My sister and I spent some very special time together in the ICU with Emilio at the ready, his gentle kindness and understanding, compassion, and expertise made us all feel so safe in a time when nothing at all felt safe or reliable.
The care that Emilio gave my sister is something I will always remember.
