Emily A Harris, BSN, RN

I would like to nominate Emily Harris, RN, for the DAISY Award. Emily has shown time and time again her ongoing respect for our patient population (psychiatry and addiction). A week ago, from writing this, she took the time to sit with an established adolescent patient for over an hour. She allowed him to voice his struggles and concerns with the recovery process, his ongoing family struggles, and his ideas for his future. She allowed him the space he needed to speak his mind and provided an atmosphere devoid of judgment or bias.

We here at the clinic are convinced that Emily has played a large part in keeping this client alive and continuing in recovery services. Though this is not the first time that her bedside manner has been praised, this instance exemplifies her character as a nurse in a way that should be celebrated. She is an irreplaceable asset to our patients, and we are forever grateful for the kindness, dedication, and compassion that she shows every day.
